Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SpecCV. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

SpecCV provides CV drafting, cover letter writing, and skills gap review. Drafts may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing all content before using it.

2. Account

You must keep your authentication credentials secure and notify us of any unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity carried out under your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.
  • Use the service to create content for fraudulent applications.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or security controls.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell the service without written permission.

4. Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Refunds are at our discretion outside of statutory consumer rights.

5. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of CV and job description content you submit. You grant SpecCV a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the service. SpecCV retains all rights in the platform, templates, and software.

6. Drafted content

CVs and cover letters prepared through SpecCV are provided "as is". SpecCV does not guarantee accuracy, employability, or fitness for any specific job application.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms or to comply with legal obligations. You may close your account at any time.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpecCV is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, opportunities, or data. Our aggregate liability is capped at fees paid to us in the preceding 12 months.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
